Biz Time: Join the Time-Saving Revolution!

Time is money for the “Work-from-Home” Mom. Last month, I posted tips for efficiently doing tasks in time intervals. Now, I want to share with you a few ideas for doing social media tasks in a more effective efficient way. I’m tired of balancing a hundreds things at once online, aren’t you?

Tip #1: Stop Spending Hours Watermarking
You can kill yourself watermarking. It’s a difficult task that never seems to get any easier, or so I thought until I started using Windows Live Writer. Do you know that you can watermark your photos in less than five easy steps? I’d tell you how to do it, but you can read a pretty good tutorial here. In case you don’t know what Writer is, it’s a Windows Live application that allows you to blog more effectively and easier, even while you are offline. It will publish to basically any blogging platform and its free and available with a simple download! Saving time and saving money? Count me in.

Tip #2: Manage Your Social Media Easier
Take a look at some social media management dashboard tools such as TweetDeck or HootSuite. These tools allow you to monitor and manage multiple social media sites from one place! You can monitor and respond to all of your tweets, FaceBook posts, and even your LinkedIn world from one screen.

“TweetDeck is your personal browser for staying in touch with what’s happening now, connecting you with your contacts across Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and more. With TweetDeck anyone can tweet like a Pro. Customize your Twitter experience with columns, groups, saved searches and automatic updates helping you to effortlessly stay updated with the people and topics you care about. See what people are saying about you and join the conversation by tweeting, sharing photos, videos or links directly from TweetDeck. We like to think of it as air traffic control for Twitter.” (via TweetDeck)

“Save your time and your sanity. Monitor and post to multiple social networks, including Facebook and Twitter using the HootSuite dashboard. Never miss an opportunity to engage! Custom search streams allow you to monitor brand mentions, industry key words, competitor names and more.” (via HootSuite)

Tip #3: Take a 15-Minute Break to Re-Evaluate Your Family Photos
Do you have a billion thumb drives with photos of vacations, school plays or soccer games that you use on your blog? One way to sort them and easily store them in one place is via Windows Live Photo Gallery. It, like Facebook, will allow you to tag people in batches. Then you’ll save all that time that you used to waste searching for Suzy’s second grad first day of school photo… from 12 years ago. Now, you can find the images you want to post pretty simply.

“Import photos from your camera, organize them into albums, and edit them so they look their best. Use powerful photo tools to create stunning panoramas, movies, slide shows, and more. When you’re ready to share, publish your photos and videos to your favorite websites like Facebook and Flickr directly from Photo Gallery.” (via Windows Live Photo)

See my previous post about Joining the Timer Revolution and this is just another way for you to join. These easy little tricks and tips will help you to find at least an extra 15 minutes in your day. So, get started and smile, the online experience just got easier.
